How pricing works

Pay for GPU work, in plain dollars

No per-seat license and no per-label fee. Every plan includes a monthly compute allowance that you spend only on GPU features; everything else is free.

Metered from your compute balance

  • SAM3 auto-annotation (interactive and batch)
  • Model training
  • Inference deployments
  • AI image generation and editing
  • Workflow runs
  • Similarity and embedding search

Always free

  • Manual annotation, unlimited
  • Image uploads and HEIC conversion
  • Folder and dataset management
  • All export formats (COCO, YOLO, VOC, and more)
  • SDK, CLI, and REST API within your plan limits
  • Automatic image tagging on upload

What it costs

  • Interactive SAM3 auto-annotationabout a cent per image
  • Batch auto-annotation, trained modela fraction of a cent per image
  • AI image generationfrom about four cents per image
  • AI image editingfrom about eight cents per image
  • Training and deploymentsby the GPU-second while running

The free plan’s $5 of monthly compute covers, for example, hundreds of interactive SAM3 auto-annotations, tens of thousands of batch ones with a trained model, around a hundred AI-generated images, or dozens of AI edits. Paid plans include more, and you can turn on pay-as-you-go on any plan, including Free.

Frequently asked questions

What are compute credits?

A USD balance that pays for GPU features: auto-annotation, model training, image generation and editing, deployments, and workflows. Every plan includes a monthly compute allowance ($5 Free, $29 Core, $50 Pro, $100 Team), and each operation is priced in plain dollars. Manual annotation is always free.

How much does it cost to auto-annotate an image?

Interactive SAM3 auto-annotation costs about a cent per image, and batch auto-annotation with a trained model costs a fraction of a cent per image - so the free plan's $5 of monthly compute covers tens of thousands of batch auto-annotations. Manual annotation is always free; you only spend compute on GPU-backed features.

How much does it cost to train a model?

Model training is billed by the GPU-second while it runs, so you pay only for active time. A short run on a small dataset is typically a few dollars; larger datasets and more epochs cost proportionally more. You see an estimated cost before you start, and training draws from the same USD compute balance as every other GPU feature.

Is Pictograph cheaper than per-seat or per-label tools?

It depends on your usage, but the model is different: Pictograph has no per-seat license and no per-label fee. You pay a flat monthly plan ($0 to $199) that includes a compute allowance, and buy more compute in plain USD only if you exceed it. Seat-based tools charge per user whether or not they label, and per-label tools scale with volume; Pictograph charges for the GPU work you actually run, and manual annotation is free.

What can I do on the free tier?

The free plan is $0 with no credit card and includes $5 of monthly compute, 5,000 images, and 2 GB of storage. That covers hundreds of interactive SAM3 auto-annotations or tens of thousands of batch ones, plus unlimited manual annotation, all export formats, and full SDK, CLI, and REST API access. Model training, deployments, and AI image generation unlock on the Core plan ($29/month).

Do credits cover deployments and workflows?

Yes. Model deployments are billed by uptime and workflows are billed per frame, both drawn from the same USD compute balance. You can pause a deployment at any time to stop the meter.

Does my compute allowance roll over?

No. It renews at the start of each billing period, and unused compute does not carry over.

What happens if I run out of compute?

By default, paid operations pause when you reach your monthly allowance, and we warn you first. On any plan - including Free - you can add a card and turn on pay-as-you-go: either auto-recharge, where we top up your compute balance from your card when it runs low by an amount you choose, or buy credits on demand. Prepaid compute carries over between periods and you get an emailed receipt for every charge. Pay-as-you-go buys more compute at your plan's usual limits - or upgrade anytime for a larger included allowance.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime, with changes effective immediately and billing prorated.

What happens if I exceed my image or storage limits?

We warn you as you approach them. Upgrade for more headroom, or wait for the next billing cycle.
